Text Wrestling Summary
I read the article on "Welcome to Cancerland" by Barbra Ehnrenreich. In this reading Enrenreich talks about her personal experience battling with breast cancer. Going for a mammogram was a chore such as going to the food store for Ehnrereich before being dianosist with cancer. The mammogram that showed that she had cancer changed it all for her. She went to the doctors more and more to make sure the cancer didnt grow.
Ehnrenreich speaks out and says that those who have cancer are usually the one who are known as "battling" or "fighting" with cancer. However, on other illness' people who have them are known as "patients". That really bothers Ehrenreich. What also bothers the author is ways to get money to support breast cancer not always did the money go toward breast cancer patients.
Ehnrenreich explains her experiences with Chemotherapy and how it effected the body. For example, having hairloss. She goes on and on to tell how her life has changed ever since she was dianosist with breast cancer. She talks about how it changed her life for the better and changed her views on life.
